Using this guide you can have the confidence to decide before ordering if the saddle is too long for your horse's back.

Note that just placing a brand new saddle on the horse’s back is not sufficient to judge whether it is a correct fit or not. Often the saddle will appear too narrow when new and especially if not properly girthed up. Normally a new saddle needs to be properly girthed up and ridden on for 5 to 10 hours, depending on the type of saddle, the horse and rider.

 The gullet gauge makes measuring the width your horse's back a simple job to ensure you order the correct width/tree saddle. It is made by Wintec but can be used to measure your horse for any make of saddle. We offer a refund for the cost of the gauge should you purchase from our webshop a saddle within 2 months of buying the gauge.
