Vaquera or Vaquero spur - short/straight, with rowel

A de-luxe version of the traditional vaquera or vaqero spur with a short shank to the rowel (ruleta) and with the milder style of rowel. Only in black.  Some riders may look at the rowels on a vaqero spur and think that makes a very severe spur, however the size of the rowel does not necessarily determine the severity of the spur, which is determined more by the distance between the points of the rowels - the closer together the points are the milder the spur. Ultimately, like using bits or serretas all these riding accessories are in the hands (or feet) of the rider, used softly and intelligently they become a subtle aid.
