Vaquera or Vaquero spur - with straight medium shank and rowel

This is an economically priced traditional Vaquera or Vaquero spur with a medium length straight shank and with vaquera or vaquero rowel (ruleta). Finished in black, chrome or golden colour.  Remember that the size of the rowel does not neccessarily determine the severity of the spur, which is determined more by the distance between the points of the rowels - the closer together the points are the milder the spur. Like using bits or serretas all these riding accessories are in the hands (or feet) of the rider, used softly and intelligently they become a subtle aid.
